What Actually Stays After You Speak
People won't remember everything you said — but they'll remember what stayed. Inside this issue: reflections from the ElevateHER AI Summit, why story beats data, and the Storyteller Tables relaunch.
Why the best leaders focus on what people remember. What I'm noticing from leaders in the room at ElevateHER I had the honor of speaking and moderating at the inaugural ElevateHER AI Summit — and what a room. Every person there is building and leading in powerful ways. We opened with a simple idea: people won't remember everything you said, but they'll remember what stayed. As I listened, one thing stood out — it wasn't the most detailed answer that landed. It was the one that felt clear. The one that felt real. Because leadership isn't about saying more. It's about making something stick. We kept coming back to presence: how you show up, how you connect, what people feel from you. If you want people to remember, something has to stay. In the news: data explains, story is what people believe I've been thinking about what actually makes a leader memorable, and a piece in Fast Company put words to it. Storytelling is no longer a "nice to have" in leadership — it's how people understand you, how they remember you, and how they decide to trust you. The best leaders don't overwhelm with information; they help people see what matters. Storytelling Is a Strategic Imperative in the Age of AI Storytellers in action Our March Storyteller Tables was an evening with author Anju Gattani on the power of storytelling — moving from conversation to practice, with stories shared and refined in small groups. Upcoming: the Storyteller Tables (re)launch New look. New feel. A whole new experience. We're relaunching Storyteller Tables — same coaching, same focus on helping leaders and executives communicate stronger through story. Everything else is new: a new website, a new logo, a refreshed look and feel, and new programs — including tiered memberships and a stronger community. Inspiredu is a nonprofit I'm grateful to support; the work they do creating access to technology and education truly matters. Gratitude for service is what grounds us, and shared experiences are what become our stories. Neha Negandhi — CEO, Storyteller Tables · TEDx Speaker & Storytelling Coach
